Chapter 1446: Oppressive Voice
The 2nd ranked general was flabbergasted upon seeing his proud Nascent Armor suddenly melt like it was nothing. He tried to gather them back, but they simply melted in his hands, like they were made out of butter!
"What... what?! WHAT?!"
Zion suddenly somersaulted, using his wings to deftly turn around and fly towards his opponent. Then, he headbutted the 2nd ranked general straight in his gut, making him vomit out his pain.
The young teenager flew up into the skies, destroying clouds as he did so. But it seemed that Zion wasn’t done with him just yet.
Zion flew up and caught up with the 2nd ranked general and slammed him down again with his tail. The young teenager plummeted down helplessly.
No matter how many times the young teen tried to summon his strength, he couldn’t even emit a single bit of his Aubility Power. Even his Nascent Spirit was helpless. No Influence came out of his will!
It was at this point that the 2nd ranked general started to panic. For the first time in a long time, he was bleeding!
"Help... HELP!!!"
He immediately turned towards his other generals. The Witch and the Old man frowned upon seeing this. They immediately noticed that the lack of power came from the red dragon’s shout.
"I underestimated that young Dragon," said the 1st ranked general.
"I told you," said the old witch.
"Do not panic so much," said the old man. "Save our young protege, then I will go on ahead and destroy this city before it becomes any more of a problem."
It was at this point that the old witch disappeared from her position, leaving behind nothing but a smoke of violet.
Then, she reappeared right next to the young Dragonborn. Zion looked towards the witch, and shouted towards her as well.
It was at this point that the witch used some of her Nascent Influence to shield herself from the attack. Whatever Aubility Zion used, she was confident she could block it.
But it was at this point that the Ancient Roar bypassed any and all of her defenses. It inflicted the witch with a disease. A disease that completely sapped her of her power!
"What... what is happening?!"
She panicked. And she was helpless as Zion used his limb to swat the witch from the air and into the ground. Both the old witch and the young teen crashed into the streets of Reborn, sending bits of rubble flying into the air.
"HAHAHAHAH! Look who’s weak now?!"
This was Zion’s Ancient Roar! He can deprive anyone of their own power! Meaning, they would be fighting on purely strength, not Aubility Power and not even Nascent Influence!
Zion had basically lowered everybody down to his level!
But it was at this point that a beam of red light shot down towards Zion, hitting him in his wings.
It tore through it, destroying his left wing completely.
"AHHHH!" Zion screamed, feeling extreme pain as he spiraled down into the ground.
Meanwhile, the 1st ranked general stood high up in the air, looking down at the Red Dragon.
"I understand it now. That voice of yours deprives anyone of their power. But thankfully, my other generals have given me insight on how to beat it.
As long as I stay away from you, that voice will not affect me."
As expected of the 1st ranked general, he was wise and cunning. He was able to see through Zion’s power, and use it against him in such a short amount of time!
The old man with the white beard stood oppressively at the skies. "Goodbye. You were a powerful opponent, if you were given the time. But unfortunately, you will meet your end."
The 1st ranked general raised his hand, before slicing it down and sending another beam of red light towards Zion. this time, not aimed towards his wings, but towards his head.
This would decapitate him completely.
The beam hit, and sent a cloud of concrete rubble flying into the air.
Then, silence. The crowd of Reborn were completely stunned into silence. They didn’t know what happened.
Meanwhile, the old man snorted. He quickly turned around and was about to destroy another part of Reborn, when all of a sudden, he saw something in the corner of his eyes.
Down on the ground, the cloud of smoke cleared.
Zion emerged, unharmed except for the damage wing. In front of him was a strange figure.
"A skeleton?" the old man muttered.
Grieve patted down the dust and debris from his shoulder bones. "Yohohohoho! That was close, wasn’t it, my dear student?"
"Master! They... they destroyed my wing!"
"You’re lucky you have a wing. I only have bones, yohohohoho!"
Meanwhile, the 1st ranked general frowned as he looked at the skeleton in front of him. Holding nothing but a sword, the skeleton was somehow able to deflect his attack like it was nothing.
"That’s... that’s impossible..," the 1st ranked general muttered.
After all, he knew that unless he was affected by the Ancient Roar of that Red Dragon, his attack would be imbued with all of his power.
It should have destroyed anything and everything and everyone.
And yet, that skeleton was still standing right where the beam should have landed.
This was strange. Eerie, even.
"Who are you?" the general asked.
Grieve pointed at himself. "Me? I’m just nothing but a humble stack of bones..."
Then, Grieve pointed his sword up above at the old man. "And you know what they say about bones... be careful about how you disrespect them. You may not know which one is haunted or not..."
He disappeared. The old man’s eyes widened as he immediately unsheathed his sword for the first time, and defended himself from an attack to the side.
Grieve arrived right next to him, sword just a few inches away from severing the old man’s neck.
The 1st ranked general tried to manuever his sword to defend. But Grieve skillfully deflected every single one of his attacks.
"You youths are so disrespectful at times," Grieve muttered.
