Chapter 2261: 2305: Unusually Smooth
Jiang Fan looked down at the character for "Take" on his chest. Since the Prime Minister’s order was this effective, he had nothing to worry about.
"Where are Vile Sage Qingtian and the others?" Jiang Fan shouted.
Widow Wolf Sage frowned.
To think that a dignified nominee of the Divine Capital Holy Scroll had been reduced to taking orders from a nameless nobody in the Divinity Transformation Realm!
His eyes darted around before he said, "I’ll lead the way for you.
"There are too many prying eyes in the military camp. It would be bad if some blind fool fails to recognize the Prime Minister’s order."
Jiang Fan was secretly amused.
He noted that this guy was as scheming as ever, wondering why Widow Wolf Sage would be so kind as to lead the way. It was nothing more than a suspicion that Jiang Fan was the old man who had snatched his Yuhua Divine Boots in the Martial Vault, and he wanted to take the opportunity to test the waters.
Fine, then Jiang Fan would grant his wish.
If they encountered the Vile Sages later and a conflict broke out, he would try to eliminate this hidden threat along with them.
"Then I’ll have to trouble you, sir. How should I address you?" Jiang Fan asked.
Widow Wolf Sage smiled warmly and made an inviting gesture. "I am Widow Wolf of the Black Abyss Realm. The two people you want to take away are from Central Earth, aren’t they?"
A sharp glint flashed in his eyes.
If his guess was correct, that old man was probably Jiang Fan of Central Earth. If the people this person in front of him wanted to save were from Central Earth, then it would all make sense.
Jiang Fan thought to himself that it was indeed a test.
With a faint, enigmatic smile, Jiang Fan said, "Yes, that’s right."
A sharp light flashed in Widow Wolf Sage’s eyes.
Could it really be Jiang Fan?
He glanced sideways at the Big Black Dog and probed again, "You have visited the Martial Vault recently, haven’t you?"
Jiang Fan answered as he walked, "I have."
With his back to Jiang Fan, Widow Wolf Sage’s gaze darkened. "Is that so?
"I heard the Martial Vault hasn’t been peaceful lately. The Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis is hunting down an old man. You should have heard about it too, right?"
Jiang Fan feigned ignorance. "Really? I haven’t heard of it."
Widow Wolf Sage pointed at the Big Black Dog. "This dog belongs to the old man being hunted by the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis.
"If you haven’t seen him, why would it be by your side?"
Jiang Fan simply smiled and remained silent.
He had no intention of hiding his identity. After all, he was going to take the man’s life shortly anyway.
The Big Black Dog also finally caught onto Widow Wolf Sage’s probing. It cast a sidelong glance and sneered, "Are you interrogating us?
"I want to stay by his side. Do you have a problem with that?"
Coldness swirled in Widow Wolf Sage’s eyes.
He was almost certain that the person in front of him was highly likely to be Jiang Fan!
This was the man who had stolen his two Fox Demon beauties, snatched his Yuhua Divine Boots, and severely injured him. If he didn’t avenge this, he swore he was not a man!
Suppressing the killing intent in his heart, Widow Wolf Sage revealed a warm smile. "I was just asking casually.
"Up ahead is the military camp’s prisoner detention area. The people you are looking for should be inside."
Jiang Fan looked up.
In the center of the military camp stood a massive sealing Array, containing prisoners from various worlds across the heavens. They were all bound by chains, engaging in all sorts of labor under the supervision of a group of Daqian Divine Kingdom soldiers. Some were transporting various Magic Artifacts, some were assisting in the forging of Flying Boats, and others were cooperating with the army to simulate large-scale battles.
The physical labor was fine, albeit arduous, but cooperating with the army for war simulations was extremely dangerous. Jiang Fan had only watched for a short while before he personally witnessed several prisoners die in the simulated combat.
The Big Black Dog was nonchalant. "Don’t sympathize with them. The prisoners we bought are divided into a strict hierarchy.
"Only the most treacherous and evil ones are dragged off to participate in the exercises.
"Those whose crimes don’t warrant death just do hard labor at most."
Jiang Fan didn’t say much.
For Nanqian to justify its military campaigns, it had to be seen as an army of justice. They wouldn’t blatantly slaughter ordinary people, at least not for the time being.
Suddenly, his gaze trembled as he spotted two familiar figures.
It was a young man and woman transporting heavy Magic Artifacts piece by piece.
They were none other than Ren Guhong and Wang Chongling!
Joy lit up Jiang Fan’s brows, but it was quickly replaced by a look of confusion.
To his surprise, Vile Sage Qingtian hadn’t tortured them to reap the Karma Barrier after taking them away? He hadn’t even thrown them into the battlefield to die?
Even Qing Jiu noticed something was amiss and muttered, "Does Vile Sage Qingtian want to keep them as bait to lure you into saving them?
"Their current situation is much better than being locked up in the underground of the Feng family."
The prisoners beneath the Feng family’s estate couldn’t escape death in the end. However, as coolies in Nanqian, at least they wouldn’t be killed on the surface. They might even be released in the Late Period.
"Perhaps." Jiang Fan frowned, also unable to understand Vile Sage Qingtian’s intentions.
But this couldn’t be better.
He walked straight to the front of the Array and displayed the character "Take" on his chest.
An expert in the Two Calamities Realm who was directing the exercise sensed his arrival. Upon seeing the character "Take," he immediately became awe-inspiring and asked, "What are the Prime Minister’s orders?"
Jiang Fan pointed at Ren Guhong and Wang Chongling in the distance and said, "I am ordered to take these two away."
The Two Calamities Realm commander glanced at the two who hadn’t even reached the Divinity Transformation Realm and made a grabbing motion through the air without hesitation. The chains on their bodies shattered, and the two were instantaneously moved to the front of the Array.
"Go with him!" The Two Calamities Realm expert opened the Array, tossed the two out, and returned to the battlefield to continue training the army meticulously.
Ren Guhong and Wang Chongling were utterly bewildered. It was only when they spotted Liang Feiyan that they realized they had been saved.
"Senior Brother Liang, what is going on?" Ren Guhong looked at the middle-aged man in front of him in astonishment.
Seeing that the two were safe and sound, Liang Feiyan let out a long sigh of relief and said, "Don’t ask. Hurry up and follow us."
He knew that Jiang Fan couldn’t stay in Nanqian for long.
Jiang Fan swept his large sleeve, directly summoning a cloud that enveloped the group as they headed toward the sky.
Before leaving, he turned his head to glance at Widow Wolf Sage, who remained standing there.
The latter had a gloomy expression on his face.
Clearly, Widow Wolf Sage hadn’t expected Jiang Fan’s rescue mission to go so smoothly. The anticipated scene of a conflict between Jiang Fan and the Ten Sins of Central Earth never materialized.
Jiang Fan was actually a bit disappointed as well.
This guy was somewhat of a hidden threat. It was truly a pity that he couldn’t be eliminated like Feng Lingxiao.
However, the most pressing matter was to leave Nanqian first.
The fact that he had slain Feng Lingxiao was still a looming danger.
The Big Black Dog was also anxious to leave Nanqian and return to find its master, taking the lead to bite through the world barrier and charge out of Nanqian.
Jiang Fan followed closely behind.
After stepping out of Nanqian, he put on the Void Feather Robe without hesitation and took out a sack, speaking rapidly, "Everyone, get in.
"I’m going to travel at full speed!"
He hadn’t forgotten that Bone Struggle Sage was still coveting his Magical Treasure.
This person could chase after them at any moment.
"There’s no need for such trouble," an indifferent voice drifted down from above.
Jiang Fan’s heart shuddered.
This voice...
Looking up, a skinny old man with a faint, enigmatic smile was looking down at him.
It was none other than Bone Struggle Sage, who had been waiting for him for a long time!
No, it wasn’t just him!
Beside him stood three other existences radiating the terrifying aura of the Three Calamities Realm!
